Coming from a Shooting PD background, over 10+ years I’ve built up a wide range of experience, with superb understanding of the overall production process and, a strong selection of in-house filmmaking equipment readily available – including gimbals and drone filming kits for when the tripod just won’t cut it!

What is a Lighting Camera Operator, and why is it different to Filmmaker?
As a Lighting Camera Operator, also known as a Director of Photography (DoP), I’m responsible for operating the camera and collaborating with the director to achieve the visual style of the film (bscine.com), through choice of lenses, camera movement, composition, lighting design, and shot execution to visually tell the story.
In contrast, when I’m ‘filmmaking’, I consider the entire creative process, guiding the story, directing performances, setting the scene, and managing the film’s overall vision.
I am happily available for hire in Birmingham under both capacities—either as a Lighting Camera Operator, bringing technical expertise to craft compelling images, or as a Filmmaker, leading the project’s creative direction from concept to completion.
